Crab fattening now a days becoming more popular in the south western coastal region of Bangladesh. Most of the shrimp farmers of satkhira district are now converting towards crab fattening -both hard shell and soft shell type because of higher profitability and low disease outbreak and a great demand in world market. Increasing the small farmers involvement in this farming system day by day because it requires a small investment capital and returns back in short period of time, thats why quickly declining the poverty line in the shyamnagar upazilla.
